We are seeking an experienced Linux/Unix System Administrator. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for managing, configuring, and maintaining a traditional server infrastructure based on Debian and RedHatdistributions.The ideal candidate has solid experience handling standard servers, automating routine maintenance processes (such as security patching), and ensuring the overall reliability, performance, and stability of core business systems.Key Responsibilities
- System Management & Maintenance: Install, configure, and administer Linux operating systems in production environments (Debian and RedHat/RHEL)
- Automation & Patching: Implement and maintain automated update systems (e.g., unattended-upgrades on Debian, dnf-automatic / yum-cron on RedHat) ensuring zero or minimal service disruption
- Troubleshooting: Perform log analysis, monitor system performance, and provide timely resolution for system infrastructure incidents
- Security Hardening: Manage user permissions, access controls, and local firewalls (iptables/nftables, firewalld)
- Scripting: Create and maintain Bash scripts (or equivalent) for routine task automation and backup management
Requirements (Must Have)
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience working as a Linux System Administrator
- Operating Systems: Deep operational knowledge of Debian and RedHat distributions (system commands, package management via apt and dnf/yum)
- Web Technologies: Proven experience with Apache configuration (VirtualHosts management, modules, SSL/TLS certificates)
- Scripting: Proficient in writing Bash Python and Perl scripts for system automation
- Networking: Solid understanding of core networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, DHCP, HTTP/S)
- Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Configuration Management tools (especially Ansible, useful for orchestrating multi-node updates)
- Experience with alternative web servers or reverse proxies (Nginx, HAProxy)
- Relevant Linux certifications (e.g., RHCSA/RHCE, Linux Foundation LFCS/LFCE, or LPI)
- Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus)
