ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Securities Master Data & Transfers Specialist to join our Banking Operations team.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and control of securities master data, supporting the lifecycle management of financial instruments and ensuring the accuracy of information used across trading, custody, settlement, accounting, and reporting processes.
The role also includes the operational management of securities transfers, portfolio movements, and related reconciliations, working closely with custodians, counterparties, front office, back office, and compliance teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Securities Master Data Management
- Creation, maintenance, and validation of securities master data records.
- Verification and enrichment of financial instrument information including ISIN, classification, currency, issuer, market and pricing source.
- Execution of data quality controls and resolution of inconsistencies.
- Support for regulatory and internal reporting activities requiring accurate instrument data.
Securities Transfers & Portfolio Movements
- Processing of securities transfers between custodians, counterparties, and client portfolios.
- Management of internal and external portfolio transfers.
- Handling of Free of Payment (FOP) transactions.
- Monitoring settlement status and investigation of transfer exceptions.
- Coordination with custodians and counterparties to ensure timely settlement.
- Resolution of transfer-related discrepancies and reconciliation breaks.
Operational Controls & Reconciliations
- Daily reconciliation of securities positions and transfer activities.
- Analysis and resolution of breaks identified during controls.
- Preparation of operational reports and management information.
- Support during audits, regulatory reviews, and internal control activities.
- Contribution to process optimization and automation initiatives.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Degree in Economics, Finance, Banking, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Previous experience within Securities Operations, Custody, Transfers, Settlement, Asset Servicing, or Back Office functions.
- Good understanding of financial instruments including equities, bonds, funds, ETFs, and structured products.
- Familiarity with securities settlement processes and market infrastructures.
- Knowledge of SWIFT messaging standards is considered an asset.
- Experience with banking platforms, custody systems, or securities databases.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- High attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Knowledge of SIX ID is a plus.
